I was a little hesitant about this book. It is a couple years old and we all know that can be an eternity as far as marketing techniques are concerned. I was pleasantly surprised to find this to be an easy read with relevant examples and tips I could really incorporate into my business. Twitter, facebook and other social networking tools might be the wave of the future – this books talks about proven techniques and strategies that are timeless (and can be applied to the emerging tools if you take the time to really understand them).

While i found this book to be most helpful in addressing marketing strategies unique to franchisees, i was put off by my inability to access the free online marketing resources offered in the book. in fact, i felt duped into giving them my email address (you must opt-in to get into the site) without a payoff, which ironically, is a shady marketing tactic they advise against in the book.

their contact information listed on the website is false, as the phone numbers are not in service. additionally, there is no stated email address to contact them. When the email link is clicked, a form appears on the website and is automatically sent without the ability to see the address to which it’s being forwarded. several emails sent in this manner have still gone unanswered after a month.

one of the deciding factors in my purchase of the book was the offer of additional resources and forms, which turned out to be false.
